Policy Fellow and Monica Salinas Field Fellow

ANA GUADALUPE LUA MARTEL (she/her/hers) is a second-year Master of Public Policy (MPP) candidate at the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs, concentrating in Immigration Policy and Nonprofit Leadership. As an immigrant, Ana is deeply committed to shaping policies that uplift immigrant communities. She serves as a Policy Fellow and Graduate Student Researcher with the UCLA Latino Policy & Politics Institute (LPPI) in the Executive Leadership Department.

In Summer 2025, Ana was selected as a Monica Salinas Field Fellow, a program that provides UCLA Luskin students with hands-on opportunities to address pressing domestic policy challenges affecting historically underserved communities. Through this fellowship, she interned for Assemblywoman Blanca E. Rubio in her district office, where she was able to meaningfully contribute to her community.
