UCLA LPPI is committed to working with leading experts, advocates and elected officials to address today’s most pressing issues. We are committed to championing evidence-based policy solutions that expand genuine opportunity for all Americans by shining a spotlight on how Latinos are and are not included in policy-making.
The UCLA Voting Rights Project is the flagship project of the UCLA Latino Policy & Politics Institute aimed at creating an accessible and equitable system of voting for all Americans through impact litigation, research, and clinical education to expand access to the ballot box.
Xian Lun Zeng is a third-year undergraduate student at UCLA studying Human Biology and Society with a minor in Public Health. At the UCLA Latino Policy and Politics Institute, Xian hopes to deepen their expertise on structural barriers to equitable health access. Xian has contributed to research on the successes and challenges of previous Medi-Cal expansions to California’s undocumented population and developing policy recommendations to further expand healthcare coverage to all. In the future, Xian hopes to pursue a dual MD and MPH degree and work at a nonprofit organization that provides both research and clinical care for underserved populations.
