Latino-led Economic Resilience Research Series
The UCLA Latino Policy and Politics Institute (LPPI) has released a series of research briefs documenting Latino-led Economic Development (LLED) efforts of four historically underserved neighborhoods in California and Arizona. These briefs highlight Latino resilience, innovation, and community-driven strategies in South Phoenix, Tucson, Fruitvale, and San Ysidro neighborhoods during and beyond the COVID-19 pandemic.
The analyses, authored by Cecilia Nuñez, Jennifer Uribe, Cristian Hernández, Misael Galdámez, Chhandara Pech, Paul M. Ong, Silvia R. González, Citlali Tejeda and Francisco Pedraza combine quantitative and spatial data, historical analysis, and practitioner insights. These briefs offer a roadmap for policymakers, philanthropists, and community leaders to support community-rooted economic development that prioritizes equity and community self-determination.
