Rodolfo Solís
Rodolfo Solís is a Ph.D. candidate in Political Science at UCLA whose research examines U.S. Latino politics, political behavior, partisan alignment, and the relationship between ethnoracial identity and political belonging. Drawing on 85 in-depth interviews conducted in South Texas, his dissertation explains how Latino Republicans come to understand Republican alignment as consistent with their ideological commitments, social ties, and Latino and immigrant-rooted identities. His broader book project examines political heterogeneity among Latinos and the conditions under which ethnoracial identity does—or does not—generate shared political obligations. His research on ideological sorting among Latino Republicans has been published in Political Research Quarterly.
