NICOLE V. CHAVEZ (she/her/hers) is a senior majoring in Math for Teaching with a minor in Education Studies. As an incoming Policy Fellow within the UCLA LPPI Research Department, Nicole aims to provide insightful considerations for educational policy to expand and improve retention efforts in higher education.

At UCLA, she serves as a Peer Learning Facilitator (PLF) and Supervisor for the Academic Advancement Program, leading discussions in calculus to provide students from underrepresented backgrounds the resources and support they need to succeed academically. Being a first-generation college student and proud daughter of immigrant parents from Mexico, her enthusiasm for mathematics fuels her commitment to increasing the representation of women of color in STEM and higher education.
