Policy Fellow

MELANIE FABIAN MARQUEZ (she/her) is a fourth-year
student majoring in Labor Studies with minors in Public Affairs and Chicano/a Studies. As a Policy Fellow in the Leadership Programs Department, she is excited to keep creating spaces where communities feel supported and empowered to succeed.

Growing up in Los Angeles in a proud Oaxacan family, she has
always believed in doing work that reflects the people she loves
and the communities that have invested in her.

Her work with the Community Programs Office and the CPO Student Association — coordinating campus initiatives, supporting student organizations, and developing leadership curriculum — strengthened her interest in community engagement and social impact.

After graduation, she hopes to continue building equitable communities through corporate philanthropy or by pursuing a master’s degree in Student Affairs, where she can keep supporting students and strengthening the institutions that serve them.
