Policy Fellow

FABIAN DIAZ (he/him/his) is a senior double majoring in Political Science and Economics with a minor in Film, Television, and Digital Media studies. Fabian, a returning Policy Fellow within the UCLA LPPI Mobilization Department, is passionate about working to amplify policy change that would address the specific needs of communities of color whose voices are too often overlooked and neglected.

At UCLA, Fabian has taken on leadership roles in various cultural based organizations, including acting as a Finance Director for the Latinx Pre-Law Association. His past extracurricular activities have centered around direct community engagement and involvement. His work in the mobilization department has worked to spotlight community stories who are affected by policy changes and pressing issues on a local, state, and federal level. Specifically, his work as a Communications and Community associate for a LA City Council campaign allowed him to engage with Latinx communities advocating for change. Likewise, as a student staff intern for UCLA’s USAC Office of the President, he was able to assist in addressing the needs of the University’s student population.

Fabian was born and raised in the inland empire and is a proud first-generation college student driven by his parents’ sacrifices and influenced by his Mexican heritage.
