Diana Torres
DIANA TORRES (she/her) is currently a Ph.D. student in the Higher Education and Organizational Change program at UCLA. Originally from Riverside, California, she completed her Bachelor’s degree in education and sociology at UC Riverside. Diana has served as a Data Fellow at The Education Trust, where she worked on projects focused on labor market outcomes for marginalized student groups. Additionally, she has held teaching assistantships for introductory R courses, statistics courses, and undergraduate research programs.
Diana’s research examines college affordability and economic mobility among college degree holders, with a particular focus on first-generation Latino students. As the proud daughter of Mexican immigrant parents, she has a personal understanding of the challenges faced by Latino immigrants and their children which fuels her commitment to dismantling barriers and promoting social mobility within the Latino community.
