Denisse Rodriguez
DENISSE RODRIGUEZ (she/her) Denisse Rodriguez is an incoming Policy Fellow at the UCLA Latino Policy & Politics Institute within the Mobilization Department, and a third-year undergraduate at UCLA double-majoring in Public Affairs and Global Studies. As a first-generation college student, she takes pride in her upbringing as a Mexican immigrant and is passionate about advancing equity through law, policy, and advocacy.
Through roles in government, research, and legal advocacy, she has developed a strong foundation in community-centered policymaking and public service. As a Constituent Services Intern in the Los Angeles Mayor’s Office, she managed casework, developed a resource guide to connect residents with city services, and supported efforts addressing unhoused populations. She previously served as a Research Intern at the National Low Income Housing Coalition in Washington, D.C., analyzing housing assistance programs and contributing to national policy research. At UCLA School of Law’s Immigration Family Legal Clinic, she worked as a Legal Assistant and Spanish Interpreter, supporting immigrant families in asylum, parole, and juvenile status cases. She now continues her advocacy as an Advocacy and Grants Intern at Elena’s Light.
At UCLA, Denisse serves as President of the Latinx Pre-Law Association, where she launched the organization’s first Law Journal and expanded mentorship and LSAT resource programs.
