Isabel Ortega Hernandez
ISABEL ORTEGA HERNANDEZ (she/her/ella) is a senior triple majoring in Political Science (Race, Ethnicity, and Politics Concentration), Chicane and Central American Studies, and Labor Studies. As a returning Policy Fellow within the UCLA LPPI Research Department, she is passionate about youth development, language equity, health policy, and housing policy.
As an undergrad, Isabel has been able to support projects around workers and learners’ experiences, implementing a youth transportation program, allocating grant funds to youth-led mental health projects, and more. Most recently, Isabel participated in the Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA) Program at Harvard Kennedy School, and is a 2024 Astin Community Engaged Research Scholar.
Isabel grew up in Santa Ana, California with roots in Jalisco, México and is a proud first-generation Latina.
