Annamaria De La Torre
ANNAMARIA DE LA TORRE (she/her/hers) is a senior studying Public Affairs with a minor in Environmental Systems and Society. A Returning Policy Fellow with the Communications Department, she is passionate about analyzing the intersection between public perception and public action, especially as it relates to issues like climate change, political polarization, and immigration.
At UCLA, Annamaria is a part of the Facilities Commission, the Campus Events Commission, and UCLA Radio, where she strives to create an inclusive, engaged, and well-informed campus environment. As the Internal Assistant Commissioner of FAC, she leads the organization in pursuing advocacy-oriented, action-forward projects that pertain to sustainability, accessibility, and transportation at UCLA. In the past, Annamaria has worked with private entities, such as Refork, a Czech-based compostable dining ware company, to expand market reach to the United States, as well as non-profits, like In-Reach, as a Social Media and PR Intern, where she witnessed and enacted transformative efforts to refine the organization’s public image to spread further life-affirming and saving resources through a virtual platform.
Annamaria is the daughter of immigrant and first-generation parents and grew up in Hacienda Heights, CA, where she takes pride in her Mexican and Italian heritage.
