Join the UCLA Latino Policy and Politics Institute (UCLA LPPI) on Tuesday, September 20 for a webinar event discussing extreme heat as a climate justice issue, its disproportionate impacts on Latinos, and emerging responses to protect the health and safety of frontline communities living under climate change.

As dangerous heat waves become more frequent, hear from government officials, community advocates, and researchers on the risks and challenges facing frontline Latino communities, their lived experiences and stories from the ground, and emerging responses that center the needs of outdoor workers, undocumented immigrants, limited English speakers, and low-income Latinos. Discussing current and anticipated heat adaptation strategies, this panel of experts will explore the role of government and civil society in mitigating disparities and advancing environmental justice among populations hit hardest by extreme heat and other climate disasters.
